    Petsites! (and similar)

Disclaimer! I am not always active on these sites! I've just played these before and they were fun!

  • 4dopt

My absolute favorite pet site currently and one I am so politely begging you to try out. The majority of the item art and the pets are created by the community, with a few items and rabbits borrowed from their sister site Warrenz, created by the same person. They may set breedability, where to find them, what items can they be spawned or transformed from, etc.
The main draw of the site (outside of user created content) is the customization features avaliable. For pets you may edit, you can edit every individual layer the artist adds ranging from color, to transparency, to layer styles. Pet names cannot be set by the user, as they have randomly generated names ranging from one word to three words long - however, two words are the most common. You can, however, breed for a chance to inherit name parts from the parent adopts. The site focuses mainly on collection of themed RNG names and pet customization, oftentime to match the RNG name in a way.

I even created my own species for the site, Woldrags!

  • Neopets

... Do I really have to introduce Neopets? It's the same one. Still up. Hell, if you're here looking at this petsite list you likely know Neopets very well, or are even on it.
Honestly? I don't think I'd even recommend Neopets at this time, really. I just have this on this list because I still hold great attachments to my own Neopets. A lot of minigames got lost probably forever because of the death of Flash, the parent company Jumpstart hired some crypto-dipshits to make NFT's at the peak of all that, (and it went horribly, hilariously wrong,) and the new site layout to not get super outdated is... well, I don't like the look of it. Looks like a mobile game and it abrely covers the main pages of the site. Granted, Neopets is a Fucking Huge site so thats not very surprising.
Anyways, I'm attached to my Neopet OCs and love seeing other peoples, so I've put it here regardless.

  • Flight Rising

This is a pet site about dragons! It focuses heavily on breeding for traits and colors, however there is a (in my opinion, anyways,) fairly complex battling system. There's a large community for trading and selling items and dragons as well.

  • Subeta

Subeta is a petsite that focuses more on the collection of items for pet galleries and customizing your avatar. There are multiple species of pets, with multiple colors each, though pets are not customizable with clothing like Neopets. There is a battle system, quests, and pets can gnerate income by having a job, with the quality of the job relating to their stats. Subeta is also on the more "mature" side of a petsite usually is, though still falls under being PG-13. There's some leniency on swear words, some pet skins feature blood, and some clothing items can verge on the side of "taboo" for some, though thats about it. Very easy to make loads of money doing a lot of the daily quests.

  • Goatlings

As you may guess, this is a pet site about goats! Similar to Subeta, you have an avatar to customize with clothing items. You can customize your goatlings with items called Appearance Dolls which work like skins, giving your goatling a predetermined design.

  • Wobbletown

An extremely simple pet site more along the lines of a Tamagotchi than like on Neopets. You get a random wobble, and feed it every day to watch it mature. You can create wobbles for the site ON the site! In the wobble lab you can sprite and fill out an evolution tree for the wobble to submit on site. With 15 different sections to create sprites for, it can be a bit tedious however.

  • Gifypet

This is a stretch, really, but Gifypet is a site where you can make a little tamagotchi-like pet on your own website! For example, meet Zuby!
