Demi-Deagonals

Demi-Deagonals, otherwise known as Half-Deagonals, or broadly called Deagonals, is the hybrid species between True Deagonals and Animas that reside in Kleosaethyr. They inherit the floating body plan and some of the magical and elemental abilites of the True Deagonal, and the more organic forms of Animas. They are all biologically immortal, and are very disease-resistant, but can die via external means.

Physiology

Demi-Deagonals are a semi-manatic and semi-organic species, meaning they are made of and subside on mana and organic materials. Demi-Deagonals vary greatly visually, coming in all sorts of colors and shapes. They typically feature a head, torso, hands, thighs, shins, and either toes or the whole foot. May feature tails, wings, multiple pairs of hands, multiple heads, multiple legs, and more. Usually depicting mammalian-like features, but can also exhibit reptilian, amphibious, aquatic, or avian-like traits as well.

Abilites

The Demi-Deagonal's abilities, also referred to as "mana abilities", are split into three categories, each individual typically having one of each. These categories are "Magical", "Elemental", and "Physical".

Magical abilites are abilities that solely utilize mana to perfom. For example, summoning portals, mind reading, or illusions.

Elemental abilities are mana abilities that draw from natural aspects of worlds, like fire, thunder, water. These abilites utilize both physical matter alongside mana to perform, substituting mana needs with physical matter or energy. Some more abstract elements, such as elements of shadows or emotions, require more mana to use, as there is not much physical matter to manipulate instead. These are argued to possibly fall into the "Magical" category, as many deem the mana usage of these abilites too great to be elements. However, others argue that the use of any physical matter should be the curriculum to separate the two categories, putting some previously labeled "Magical abilities" into the "Elemental" label.

Physical abilites are mana abilities that allow the Demi-Deagonal to morph and use a body part as a weapon. Most common are tails used like spears, wings like shields, or hands as constrictors, but many more unconventional abilites exist as well. Physical abilites use the least amount of mana, necessitating only the magic to morph slightly. Some argue that the term for these abilities should be changed to "Morph abilities", to better reflect the kind of magic used.

Culture

Demi-Deagonals are responsible for guarding the eclipse points between the worlds.

Demi-deagonals have an informal distinction of "Greater Deagonals" and "Lesser Deagonals", with difference in mainly strength, size, and/or rank. This distinction, however, is cultural, and there is no biological differences between the two groups, only individuals.

Trivia

• Some members of the Demi-Deagonal species are capable of glowing under blacklight. However, not all members are, and it is unknown what causes the difference in the two.
• It is believed that sightings of Demi-Deagonals are the inspirations for many supernatural and cryptid tales. Some even claim animas going through Kleosaethyr and returning to their world incited tales of hell and demons.
