Senti-Elemental Evolution (Also known as Sentimental Evolution) is a method of temporary evolution where the digimon will alter it's entire evolution path using data from an object with high sentimental value to it. Some believe it is a type of "jogress" with the item, as the item gets incorporated into the digimon's digicore for as long as it is senti-elemental evolved.
How much the evolution path is altered is different from digimon to digimon, depending on the individual and the item, as it can either be just a few stages altered, or the entire evolution line is entirely altered.
When first triggering Senti-elemental evolution, the digimon will evolve into it's new evolution path at the same stage it evolves from, until it either de-evolves, or is returned to a digitama.
